New York's Fashion 26 to Offer Prime Tyra and Martha-Spotting

Often with hotels, location is everything. And in New York, the hottest areas for hotels right now are SoHo—The Crosby Street Hotel just opened there, and a Trump and Mondrian will open next year—and Midtown West, which has The Distrikt and The Strand opening soon. A little further south of those Midtown hotels is Fashion 26: A Wyndham Hotel, which promises to open this winter. Like most hotels, Fashion 26 lists nearby attractions on its website: the Museum of Sex, Madison Square Park, and Macy’s Herald Square. It also takes a big cue from its neighbor, the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Then there are these very important landmarks nearby, listed in the FAQs:

* How far is the Martha Stewart Studio?
* How far is the campus for Fashion Institute of Technology?
* Is there a park nearby?
* How far is Macy's Herald Square?

So, the last three questions we get. But really? The hotel isn’t even open yet and a frequently asked question is, “Yo, how far is Tyra?”

We dig the fashion angle the hotel has going, but we’re not sure Tyra or Martha are the best beacons of style to focus on when promoting your hotel. Imagining their fashion sense in tandem just confuses things even more. Does Fashion 26 want to attract the young and sassy or the middle-aged and chintzy? Whatever the deal is here, if you love either of these TV moguls, you’re in luck. The answers are: Tyra films half a block away, and Martha films less than half a block away.
