Andaz West Hollywood Is Opening Today

The moment is finally here. After learning about the bedtime reader-in-residence, the trippy bathrooms, the pink website and the Riot Hyatt tribute restaurant, we will at last set foot into the new Andaz West Hollywood.
The hotel closed down about six months ago to begin the renovations. Rooms now feature a much more modern look, that's more funky Andaz than Hyatt.
While guests may still find subtle hints and heritage from its earlier days, the new hotel focuses on unique details and the special locale of West Hollywood, California. New York based architecture and interior design firm Janson Goldstein who developed the many facets of the hotel. “Our mission has been to make each [Andaz] property unique to the surrounding area,” says Janson Goldstein principal Hal Goldstein. “We highlight both the contrasts between the modern and the mid-century, as well as to offer transparency. We break down barriers between inside and outside space.”
If you're not that much into design, then we know this bit will make you happy--complimentary wireless internet.
We're very excited to see the inside of this hotel namely because it's the first Andaz in North America. Remember, up until now there's only been the London property. Also, for a while now the Sunset Strip has desperately needed a new hip, hotel for the younger folks that don't happen to be movie stars or hotel heiresses. Rates are holdin steady tonight at $295. We'll report back tomorrow with the full scoop.
