1. Mercer Kitchen at The Mercer
Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's seasonal Mediterranean fusion menu features local ingredients expect to find dishes like horseradish pizza and salmon glazed with kaffir and lime. Bonus: they're offering a $24.07 Sunday brunch for Restaurant Week!
2. Country at The Carlton
We heard Geoffrey Zakarian's Country at the Carlton was closed. And then we heard it wasn't. And then we heard that it was open, but it was totally, totally different. But now we can try the place out to judge for ourselves and if we're disappointed, we won't be out too much money.
3. Norma's at Le Parker Meridien
You know, if you haven't had your first Norma's breakfast or brunch experience, we don't know what we can do for you. We won't judge you if you get the NYPD special: "Cool-Whipped raspberry-and chocolate-stuffed" Krispy Kreme donuts with coffee. Yep. (Sadly, no Sunday offer here but treat yourself on a weekday!)
4. Hudson Cafeteria at the Hudson Hotel
Though we're not nuts about the name, the communal seating idea is cool and on the menu, "upscale burger and gourmet pizzas sit alongside sautéed foie gras and shellfish risotto." Another $24.07 Sunday offer here, too.
5. Fives at the Peninsula Hotel
You know, sometimes you just want to go out for a power lunch at a place with white tablecloths, drink champagne and talk about important things like you're a New York professional on a cheesy TV show. Here's where to do it for less than $25.
