GO HERE TO SEE THE DVF-DESIGNED ROOMS, NOW OPEN!

Diane von Furstenberg's iconic wrap dress is universally pleasing: it's comfortable, it looks good on every woman (or so they say; we're inclined to agree), the design is timeless and the possibilities, with so many accessories and patterns and colors to play with, are endless. And so it should come as no surprise to any of us that a designer known to excel at sensible flexibility, comfort and universally-pleasing aesthetics was tapped to design a few hotel rooms.

In an interview with Florida's Centre Daily Times, the fashion queen, in discussing her recent endeavors, just casually dropped that she happens to be dabbling in interior design. She says she'll be designing "just a few rooms at [her] favorite hotel, Claridge's in London." While she goes into no further detail about her ideas for her rooms at that the luxe London hotel, we're psyched to see what she comes up with. Wrap dresses in the closets? Terrycloth wrap dresses instead of robes, even? Yes please.

We may remind you that this isn't the first we've heard about Ms. von Furstenberg's fondness for Claridge's: her Resort 2009 Collection was hotel-inspired, and she actually deemed a portion of her Florence runway show "the Hotel Life," showcasing ensembles of Wedgwood blue and a hotel key pattern directly influenced by the style of Claridge's.

Plus, she has had her hand in a couple of other hotel-related projects already: remember she worked with W Hotels to produce the DVF Emergency Fashion Kit ($320) that includes her black wrap dress, a thong and a garment bag. Also, waitresses at the Hollywood Roosevelt's lounge wear the designer's signature wrap dress (best uniform ever, maybe?)

No word on how many rooms she's designing or when they're set to debut, but we'll keep you posted.

YES please

I have a terrycloth DvF wrap dress! It was deeply on sale, if you have to ask. I'll now take a hotel room to match it, please.
