As for the rooms, they are perfectly fine for a cheap trip to Las Vegas but it's by no means living large. We liked the big bed and the blue and gray color scheme. We didn't even mind the medieval dragons plastered on some chair pillows and the room door. The bathroom now features a high, marble-topped vanity sink but oddly enough, the shower was not redone at all. So it's an old shower. Yup, you guessed right. We aren't showering here.
What irks us the most is the ethernet internet charge of $13.95 a night. Also the ethernet cable doesn't really extend beyond the dresser in front of the TV, forcing you to sit at the small round table nearby. Additionally, there is no nearby outlet. We managed to rig thing so we can at least sit on the edge of our bed with the ethernet cable and extend our power cord to an outlet off to the right. It is not comfortable.
The room also lacks a safe which had us concerned about our precious laptop and the room lacks a minibar. However, there is a small cafe at the elevator bank which is open 23 hours (it closes from 3 to 4am) as well as a Starbucks in the gaming area.
All in all we really wouldn't mind staying here with a few friends or even just one friend and getting plastered at night and during the day. But we would book the Widescreen rooms. We shudder just thinking about what an older room looks like here.
We booked our room directly through Excalibur for $56 a night. The Excalibur also charges a $5 resort fee which included some free game play, a free drink and free access to the fitness center.
