André Balazs: Magazine Centerfold

André just we way we like him. Grrr

January sure is turning out to be quite the hot month for André Balazs and his Standard Hotel chain. After successfully soft-opening his New York property while continually making the social rounds, André has turned himself over to the design and culture arbiters of Arkitip Magazine.

The 50th issue of Arkitip, due out in mid-February, will "focus on the creative side of [André's] work, paying attention to the way he 'pays attention' to details, his inspirations, as well as some of his obsessions." And if we're to infer anything from the above pose of André on the table, then this could be juicy.

In addition to all the André love in the issue, Arkitip has commissioned artist Andrew Holder to produce a series of four illustrations of André's most popular properties: The Standard Hollywood, The Standard NYC, The Chateau Marmont and Sunset Beach Ordering the regular issue for $30 will get one random print (more like something called a "surface mat") and the magazine, whereas shelling out $85 yields you the whole collection.

Rest assured that we've got ours already pre-ordered and will be sure to scan you some goodness when it arrives. Order your own here.

Grrrr

He needs to do a cat paw at the camera in that first pic. lol. I love it.

Awesome...

Congrats!  He really needs a hotel in Phoenix though...  you know what they say, "where there's a Mondrian or a W, there's got to be a Standard!"  ;-)
