While the Hollywood Roosevelt featured performances from Prince last year, the Standard Hollywood is bringing in Curt Smith from the 80s band Tears for Fears ("Everybody wants to rule the world") for a regular Wednesday night engagement. Actually, Smith did this sort of month-long engagement back in October and has re-upped for the month of February.

Starting on February 4th, Smith will perform songs every Wednesday from his solo release album in the hotel's Cactus Lounge. The concert starts at 7pm and is reservation only.

But that doesn't mean Smith won't get personal with the crowd. Right now, he is soliciting requests on his blog:

I'm going to change up the songs a bit this time around. I thought perhaps you could help me decide which cover song(s) to add to the mix. Why don't you make some suggestions in the comments below? I'll take the five I like best, and we'll run that as the next poll so you can vote on them.

Special Guest DJ Valida will also join Smith. There is no admission charge but reservations are strongly advised. Those can be made at hollywoodrsvp@standardhotel.com or by calling 323-650-9090 ext. 2921.
