Whatever Happened to CityStay Hotels?

January 22, 2009 at 4:15 PM | by | Comments (4)

The last we heard from CityStay Hotels (not to be confused with a UK brand of a similar name) was almost a year ago in March 2008 when the "Coming Soon!" brand announced some new executive management and some plans to do 8-10 hotels.

However, in an economy where more and more hotels are pulling back from development and expansion, CityStay Hotels has gone quiet. Their website is still up and running (a good sign) and Miami is still listed as the planned flagship location. We emailed boy wonder hotelier Greg Tubeck about the status of CityStay but have not heard back from him. The good news though? Our email didn't get bounced back. The bad news still remains: No CityStay Hotels have opened since an initial announcement nearly four years ago.

Any clue on what's going on with CityStay Hotels? Keep us informed.

hotelier boy wonder?

Your 'boy wonder' is still flying the friendly skies as a Flight Attendant.  Maybe he'll respond in between flights to Florida.

are you serious?

he's a flight attendant? that's crazy.

No More Breath for CityStay

This "boy wonder hotelier" doesn't have the specialized hotel expertise to pull together such a project. What are his credentials? Is he another hopeful future hotel owner, ideas but no substance? What is he doing now that's related to CityStay, or has he moved on to some new venture? It's been 5 years. Forget CityStay and move on. You may see a new developed brand from a 25 year-old before a CityStay Hotel pops up anywhere.
