Jimmy Buffett will never die. And since with Jimmy Buffett comes hawaiian shirts, white pants, the occasional Tommy Bahama head-to-toe ensemble and cheeseburgers and highly caloric entrees and cocktails, it's safe to say that those things — regardless of your affection or distaste for them — will never die, either.

And now Jimmy is spreading the love and the over-the-top tropical flavor all the way to the 50th state with the opening of the latest Buffett-themed venture, Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber inside the newly-renovated Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber hotel in February:

Jimmy Buffett's latest offering features island-inspired colors, traditional outriggers (a tribute to Hawaii’s surf culture) and a stage for live music where up-and-coming talents perform nightly when the relaxing sounds of Buffett's music isn’t filling the air. Using cutting-edge technologies, images of majestic mountains, crashing waves, and beautiful outdoor sunsets dramatically bring the outdoors inside—an effect rivaled only by the bona-fide beauty of Waikiki Beach.

Sounds... subtle. But whatever; if you're going to do Jimmy Buffett, you might as well do it right: get a cheeseburger, get a margarita, and hit the JB retail store on the hotel's ground level — you can pick up CDs, margarita machines, apparel and souvenirs.

Rates at the Beachcomber start at $129.00 in case you need a place to crash after you get drunkers on the margaritas and excitement.

    Mmmmm... cheeseburgers

Actually, this place is not as cheesy at it sounds, and if you ARE a Jimmy Buffet fan (and who isn't?) it is actually kind of fun. The store in the hotel had a couple of different Jimmy albums I didn't even know existed and which I snagged. All in all, a worthy place.
