Fairmont Hotels Now Offering Guests 30 Percent Off Rooms

You know how old-timers like to spin cornmeal-laden tales of the Great Depression to anyone who will listen? Back when being a spendthrift was on par with puppy poaching, rather than just being a funny word?

Well, times have changed, and these days, recession-induced thriftiness has a decidedly different bent. Take the new Fairmont SAVERS program, which rewards responsible folks who plan ahead and book at least 14 days in advance for hotels or 21 days for resorts. The booking incentive saves guests 30 percent off the best available rate and is good through Dec. 31.

That translates to rates that start at $99 at the Fairmont Chicago, $160 at Bermuda’s The Fairmont Southampton, and $209 CAD at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
