The Kor Group is ringing in the New Year with a little help from their friends — uh, Facebook friends, that is. Offering diners at the Viceroy Santa Monica’s Whist free appetizers and the Avalon Beverly Hills’ Blue on Blue discounted drinks with proof of Facebook fan status, Kor is presumably hoping to ratchet up Facebook friends. Especially considering the two pages have a combined force of just 33 friends.
Starting yesterday, any restaurant guest who ponies up the hotel’s Facebook page via printed copy or mobile device can enjoy nine whole days of food and drink savings (through Jan. 9).
At Whist, Facebook fans score “Freebie Fritters” — lump crab fritters with chives, aioli, and caviar, normally priced at $15 — from noon to 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Blue on Blue diners are treated to a progressive happy hour with cocktails and beer for just $1 each yesterday, $2 today, increasing by a dollar each day through Jan. 9. (To get the deal, there’s a two-drink minimum, four-drink maximum.)
Um, yes please.
