Ace Hotel Palm Springs To Open on February 12th
Looks like there will be two Ace Hotels opening next month. It's not just the Ace Hotel New York that's opening soon. The Ace Hotel & Swim Club Palm Springs is all set to open on February 12th. And the hotel has just begun taking reservations online. From the press release:
Embracing the laid-back feel of Palm Springs, L.A.-based design team Commune worked with Ace to create interiors that evoke an indulgent camping experience. Walls are covered with tent-like drapes and include slats that encourage guests to personalize rooms with photos or artwork. Vintage furnishings make each room feel hand-crafted and utterly unique. Rich natural materials used in the rooms include bleached canvas, wormy butternut wood, denim, and hemp—all in line with Ace’s hybrid goal of comfort and sustainability.
Bohemian, authentic details like an old ranch hand bar (The Amigo Room) and individual outdoor patios complete with outdoor fireplaces embody Ace Hotels' philosophy: thoughtful design, cultural authenticity, and rich experience.

The hotel was also built on the foundations of a 1965 Westward Ho Hotel and unearthed some of its original structure like unearthed terazzo floors and a rare deep saltwater swimming pool. The old Denny's restaurant inside has also been renovated as King's Highway which will use "fresh, organic, and local ingredients." Further enhancing the local flavor are artistic collaborations from local artists and artisans.
Guests will also be treated to quirky amenities like tamale carts and a sno-cone bar surprise. Bicycles will be available during the stay and there's also a spa onsite.
We found simple double rooms which include two double beds, high speed internet, two bottles of water, a 42" TV and MP3 Plug, going for $89 a night on the hotel's first two nights of opening. A patio room with a fireplace and king bed is more expensive at $290 a night. The Ace Suite, the biggest room in the house, was going for $999 a night.
