The buzzwords here seem to be "refreshing" and "different" and "luxurious" though, with any opening, there seem to be a few kinks (uh, we can't imagine throwing open the doors of a 2,000+ key hotel, but we're glad we didn't have a crappy experience like AzNglrL182).
Let's focus on the good for now, though. Despite a slow check-in and lines moving at a bit of a glacial pace, MommaNeedsATrip had this to say about the rooms:
It has a similar feel to the Venetian hotel, with the 'suite' being a bedroom with partition (no door) between bedroom and living room area. The bathroom was spacious, and the room had a very modern feel to it (with electronic drapery, light switches for the lights to all the room at the bedside). The bed was by far the most comfortable bed I've ever had in my 10 trips (and 9 different hotel rooms) in Las Vegas.
AvenueEastTraveler weighs in on the public space:
Wynn Encore is by far the most well-lighted hotel-casino on the Strip. Lucky ruby red colors abound everywhere from the carpet, to the walls, to those Willy-Wonka licorice chandeliers. The table game areas feel like private gaming salons, cornered by lavish drapes and ivory white columns. There's a gorgeous, picturesque-looking pool that surprisingly looks to be the center of the hotel's attention. (Steve Wynn might want to consider keeping it open to only male and female models--no kids and over-weight people allowed.) The hotel-casino, overall, is more South Beach with Asian flair than your traditional, themed Las Vegas hotel-casinos.
Okay, so maybe we giggled at the suggestion to keep the pool a sexy-people-only hotspot. So what?
