- Tides Resort Coming to St Lucia in 2010

Looks like the Tides Resort is not the only new hotel on the block in St. Lucia. Westin also plans for a hotel in Praslin Bay which will open in June 2009.
And when it opens, the Westin Le Paradis Beach & Golf Resort will become the Caribbean's first fossil fuel independent resort. From the official release:
The sophisticated 554-acre resort is being developed with special consideration to social and environmental impacts, with the goal of improving the community in St. Lucia. Situated along the island's breathtaking east coast, The Westin Le Paradis Beach & Golf Resort, St. Lucia will feature 192 rooms, as well as an 18-hold Greg Norman Signature Golf Course and the Westin brand's full range of refreshing services and amenities.
The Westin was very serious about their environmental impact in building this hotel. They hired a St. Lucian environmental scientist, Peter Ernest, to help direct the resort's environmental strategy. He is also in the process of mapping and building nature trails for guests to explore, "while saving the mangroves and beaches from disruption."
But your vacation won't be all about nature. The hotel will have 7 restaurants and bars/lounges on site for a different kind of recreation. Sounds good to us!
