We are pretty easily impressed by anything that's a world's biggest or world's tallest, and so it's no wonder that the Radisson SAS Zurich Airport has caught our eye. It's got Europe's tallest wine tower.

Like we said, we're easily impressed, but then we had to stop and wonder what a wine tower actually is. If you're a touch ignorant like us, we can now enlighten you: this wine tower is a tall glass structure where wine is stored, like this picture of a similar Radisson SAS wine tower at Stansted Airport near London. Apparently the tower includes a system to keep wines at exactly the right temperatures.

Beyond the wine tower, the new Radisson SAS Zurich also has free internet access, a direct link to Zurich airport and several restaurants. It sounds like it's largely aimed at the business traveler but it would also fit in as a stopover before a flight for regular travelers too. The standard rooms start at 445 Swiss Francs (US$400); include breakfast and the price jumps to 482 Swiss Francs (US$430) but we're trying to remember that everything's expensive in Switzerland, plus we're assuming there'll be some tasty Swiss cheese involved in the European-style breakfast.
