But for those who deem the penthouse too rich for their blood, Hudson River views and libations will be on offer at the 15th floor rooftop, which is yet-to-be named like the hotel's first-floor restaurant where locally grown ingredients are promised to pervade its menu of small plates as well as lunch and dinner offerings.
Having deigned to design twice already in New York--once with the Muse Hotel and again with 70 Park Avenue hotel--Kimpton will be going a little more hardcore with the Vu Hotel, given its Hell's Kitchen location and proximity to Chelsea, where style-mavens abound.
The Vu is also likely to turn into the "it" hotel for convention-goers planning to spend quality time at the Javits Center. Rates will start around $425 a night.
