New Origins Wellness Retreats to Offer Super Luxe Getaways for the Eco-Conscious

by ChristineM | October 3, 2008 at 10:33 AM | 0 Comments

Yet another "ultra premium" resort brand was just announced when Philly's own AMResorts, mastermind of all-inclusive chains Secrets, Dreams and Sunscape resorts, named its newest brainchild, Origins Wellness & Spa resorts. Despite the name, the new label is utterly unrelated to beauty brand Origins, part of Estee Lauder's cosmetic empire.

But like Leonard Lauder's Origins Natural Resources, Origins Wellness facilities are firmly hitched to the "green" brand-wagon, touting the resorts' conservation of natural resources, protection of the surrounding environment, giving back to the local community and educating guests on the area eco-system and sustainability efforts.

At the same time, these pillars of environmentally-conscious society are also supposed to offer an über opulent resort experience, focused on fitness, nutrition, spa and self-improvement.

So at the first (and currently the only) Origins resort, the existing Paraiso de la Bonita on the Riviera Maya, guests can order one of 15 brands of water from the hotel's water cellar to quench their thirst during the information session on the world's second largest coral reef (which Paraiso de la Bonita happens to face), take a break from the instruction on sea turtle nesting at North America's only Thalasso Center & Spa, or dine at the resort's two Michelin-star restaurant Cuisine de los Soles, where organically grown products will be featured on the menu once this Small Leading Hotel of the World officially adds the Origins brand to its name in December.

For now, the brand's website remains a little mysterious, with the vague "details will be revealed October 14th..." teasing us at the bottom.
