Hey, remember how Aloft and Element opened up together in Lexington, MA and we went on and on about Aloft but then Element kind of went under our radar (comparatively, at least)? We hadn't been hearing too much out of Element division of the Starwood over-the-top marketing department lately, so we got to wondering what was going on with the Element Lexington, the new chain's first-born.

Natch, we dropped in to TripAdvisor to see what guests were saying.

Now, there is a certain image we get in our heads when we think of eco-hotels: grainy materials, a bit more rustic-looking, green and brown colors -- and we've gotta admit that we're a bit more apt to head toward the aesthetic of the super-sleek and shiny vibe we get from Aloft's marketing efforts, you know?

Yeah, sometimes we're wrong.

Here's a fun fact: user Thora777 clues us in on the cool policy that guests of Aloft and Element are allowed to use both hotels' facilities -- pool, fitness center, etc. They're right across from each other, so it totally makes sense -- we're happy that a hotel chain has actually chosen to do something that makes sense for once.

Since this is more of an extended-stay kinda place (as opposed to its neighbor Aloft), some guests have sorta moved in here. And some, like WorkingAndPlaying, wish they didn't have to leave:

I've been here since August 3rd and have to check out tomorrow. I hate to go!

The social hour is Monday through Thursday from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Sometimes on Wednesdays they cook hamburgers and hotdogs on the patio grill. Breakfast is available from 6:30 am until 9:30 am during the week and 7 am to 10 am on the weekends.

Apparently, there was some problem with the shower doors -- water leaked out pretty heavily onto the bathroom floor (not very eco-friendly, friends!) -- but one extended-stay reviewer said the staff was working on fixing that problem.
