"Breaking" News :: Do Not Disturb Canceled

Sitcom Fail.

Well, color us surprised. Do Not Disturb -- the hotel sitcom starring Jerry O'Connell that we loved to hate and then hated ourselves for kinda-loving -- has reportedly gotten the axe after only three episodes.

We'll be honest: you may have noticed our weekly episode review was missing this time around. Well, for some reason, our Tivo did not record Do Not Disturb this week. And we were hoping to catch the latest episode (#3) online yesterday, but it (curiously) was never posted on Fox.com and we were, frankly, a little bit bummed cause we kinda enjoyed it last week.

But silly, silly us: the Tivo apparently knew something we didn't.

The Ausiello Files on EW.com reported the (still unconfirmed, as far as we can tell) cancellation first -- and not only has the series been canceled, but it also got the unofficial award for the Worst Show of Fall 2008 because it was the very first show to be dropped in the new fall season.

Meh. If this is officially true, then at least it lasted longer than the two episodes we'd originally predicted. Then again, when you give explicit permission for Audrina Patridge to make a cameo, you've gotta know things aren't going too well, right?

Anyway, like we said, friends: hotel TV shows don't work. DND will now join Welcome to the Parker in the horrible hotel TV show wasteland in the sky. Or the ground. Or whatever. But seriously: when will you all learn?

There are four more episodes in the can. You just know they're gonna turn up somewhere. Betcha can't wait.

I disagree

who says hotel tv shows dont work ? Hotel Babylon is a fantastic show on bbc already finished season 3 and im expecting season 4.
