Marathon Hotels :: Chicago's Avenue Hotel Will Be Running Alongside You
While Chicago gears up for its annual marathon on Sunday, October 12, a little something more personal is going on at Avenue Hotel, the city's newest property on the Magnificent Mile.
Not only is the Avenue Hotel offering up a "Marathon Package" starting at $279 a night (including a power breakfast and late checkout), but one of Avenue's own will be representing the hotel in the actual 26.2-mile marathon. According to the release, "Avenue Hotel's Assistant Controller Pablo Merchan will be running the Chicago Marathon for the first time this year, and provided partial inspiration for the package." Good luck Pablo!
Since the Avenue was converted from a Radisson in March 2008, it's a rather large building boasting an adjoining English pub and a 40th-floor SkyBar (here's hoping they get their liquor license before the marathon).
In case we're in for a warm autumn, your marathon-weary muscles will rejoice in something very rare for Chicago: a rooftop pool! Just imagine going right from itty-bitty running shorts to an even skimpier swimsuit; if only because it's another excuse to show off your toned runners bod.
