Thanks to all the commenters who dropped in their suggestions for Paris. In the end there was a three-way tie between the The Petit Moulin, Plaza Athenee and the write-in suggestion from PatrickSW, The Four Seasons George V.

So, here is how we operated the tie-breaker. The George V was about $1,200 a night. Last time we checked, our bank account barely held that much money in it and a large portion of it was already ear-marked for our expensive shoe habit.

But speaking of shoes, the Plaza Athenee offers a chocolate shoe if you book the Sex and The City package. Yay! However, our chocolate rush was over before it began as the Plaza Athenee has room rates topping out at $900 a night. There's just no way we could get that budget approved from our bosses. Believe us, we tried.

So that would leave the Hotel Petit du Moulin as the winner, right? Well not quite. When we looked to book for our last day in Paris, which is also our very last day in Europe, there was not really any availability. We say "not really" because unlike other dates, on the date we wanted the hotel's website told us to email them for availability.

So we tried another date and figured we could stay somewhere cheap and near the airport on our last night. But we yielded a rate of 369 Euros! There has to be something better.

Thus we headed back to the commenters and tucked in between a vote for the Petit Moulin and George V was a recommendation from WallaceGirl--The Five Hotel in the city's Fifth Arrondisement also known as the Latin Quarter.

Immediately we went to the hotel's website and we kinda fell in love. The rooms are extremely small but they are all tricked out with some funky-ass, optic fiber lighting to give off a psychedlic appearance.

Other things that swayed our decision? The Latin Quarter location, Free WiFi and the remarkably positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Plus with rates starting around 200 Euros at the smallest level, we were able to ensure a big enough room for our big fat American selves without going crazy over budget.

We've already booked the hotel and received our confirmation, along with an offer of a free keychain at the Galeries Lafayette department stores with a purchase of 50 Euros or more. Which given our shoe-shopping habits, is totally feasible.

Of course, we're in love now right now but we'll give you the full review upon our return. And WallaceGirl? You will get a special shout-out and a treat from our review. Thanks again for the suggestion!

    yay

Yay for shoe shopping in Paris! Although somehow I doubt that CLs will be any cheaper in Monsieur Louboutin's backyard.
