Trying to Find Harrahs AC? Look for the 44-Story Video Wall

Back in May we stayed at Harrah's new Waterfront Tower during their free room giveaway in NYC. At the time one of our correspondents enjoyed their stay...and one didn't.

The Waterfront Tower's construction wasn't 100% finished at that point. Their last final touch was a huge video wall putting the ones that are already seen on Trump and Caesars to shame. Harrah's encompasses all 44 stories of the tower on all four sides.

We're not talking lights that change color every minute giving the hotel a nice glow in the evening or moving light squares like what you see on the outside of Bally's. We're talking full-blown, full-motion video baby.

In the 10 minutes we drove around trying to take video in the rain and fog without starting a traffic jam, we saw a spot for the World Poker Tour, upcoming events, dancing girls at The Pool, probably the world's biggest Harrah's logo, and the American flag being draped over the side of the building.

The further away you are, the better the view. As you get closer to the building you can see its an optical illusion which tricks you to think the entire building is a video screen. In reality every one of the 44 floors has a line of LED lights - probably no higher than a foot or two - that wrap around the width of the building.

Best Places To See This Video Screen:
We found the best unobstructed view can be seen while driving into Atlantic City from Route 30, or taking Brigantine Blvd from the north which runs right next to Harrah's. The Atlantic City Expressway has good views as well, but the view is interrupted a lot by trees and billboards.

Now if only the inside was as cool as the outside.
