Let's face it: Leaf-peeping can get a tad tedious. Which is why we there was a certain twinkle in our eyes when we heard about the jewelry component--namely two handcrafted Angela Moore bracelets--of the "Baubles, Bubbles and Best Friends" package available at the The Viking Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island, not far from the other leaf-peeping locales in New England.

The chilled bottle of champagne and $100 spa credit that are also included aren't too shabby either. For a total cost of $399 per room, nightly, the hotel also tosses in a tour of three of Newport's famed mansions, which we suspect is where the "best friend" bonding part of the deal comes in (we could do that just as happily at the bar).

Now to get back to the trinkets, we should probably point out that the bracelets are beaded.

But before anyone wrinkles their noses at the thought of wearing anything other than precious gems, Angela Moore features a line of merchandise supporting breast and ovarian cancer awareness. Fifteen percent of net proceeds are donated to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure and another 15 percent to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. So wearing these beaded baubles is definitely commendable in our esteem.

Not to mention, a reason to take notice of the Hotel Viking, which could've just as easily doled out a ration of Tiffany knick-knacks and called it a day. Instead, the Viking will go on offering baubles and bubbles though March 31, 2009. Funnily enough the code word to book is Bubbles.
