Want your hotel stay to go beyond just conserving water by not having your sheets washed daily? Consider this agritourism deal at The Willows Inn, a B&B on Lummi Island in Washington.

This is an island just off the coast of WA near Bellingham and is practically in Canada. Here you will basically be living and working on the Nettles Farm:

You'll be an apprentice during the day by feeding the chickens, tending to a pig and harvesting produce. At night, dine in the Willows Restaurant, which prepares locally grown, organic meals in line with the Slow Food movement.

The hotel also has a small spa on site, bocce courts, a hot tub, spots for whale-watching and bikes to ride around. Then when you leave you get to take home your very own box of fresh eggs and produce. And it's a cheap adventure at $75 per person. Just a note: In the summer, the B&B requires a two-night minimum.

Also, the adventure is not listed on the Willows website but is done in conjunction with Nettles Farm. If you are serious about booking, get on the horn and speak to a human rather than book online.
