Some Like It Hot at the Colony Palms Scene
$99 a night

If a few high temperatures don't stress you out, we've just found that there are some truly good deals to be had at the Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs. They're putting on a bunch of specials under a "Some Like It Hot" banner and the room rates are dirt cheap.

The best looking deal is a weekend stay starting at only $99 per night (Colony or Superior King rooms)--that's less than half the average rack rate.

They've also got some two-for-one deals going where you get a Thursday night free if you book for Friday, or Sunday night free if you book a Saturday.

They are also running "Some Like It Hot" deals in their Purple Palm restaurant which sound okay (for example, $35 for three courses of a tasting menu) but we'd really prefer a bit of "Some Like It Hot" creativity here--a few chili dishes or some fiery cocktails.

But maybe the desert summer temps will be hot enough anyway.
