Dear Aloft Plano,

Aloha! Today, a tipster wrote in to tell us that Aloft in Plano, Texas looked like it was nearing completion. Looks like you're shooting for a November 20th opening. Cool! You go, Aloft!

With this in mind, we realize it might be time to start planning the kickass grand opening party -- and we'd like to remind you that it's pretty important to have a celebrity on the guest list. Fortunately for you, we took the liberty of coming up with a few suggestions.

These native Plano-ites are sure to make a splash:

1. Nastia Liukin. This Olympic gymnast, a Plano resident by way of Russia, just won five medals in Beijing -- and our hearts, too.

2. Chace Crawford. Better known as Nate on Gossip Girl (coming back next week! OMFG!), this smoking hot dude grew up in P-town.

3. Stephany Her Royal Highness. This Princeton freshman from Plano is neither famous nor particularly pleasant, but she's known in certain corners of the Internet thanks to this Gawker item. If Chace and Nastia are unavailable, try her out.

Just something to think about. We're not sure if Lance Armstrong (also a Plano native!) can make it, but we'll have his people call your people.

We look forward to receiving our invitation!

    Thanks for your comments and your interest in our aloft Plano. We plan to open in late October just in time for Halloween. The aloft Plano will bring the energy of W Hotels to the Legacy area. We think it will be worth waiting for. Please visit us. Our Frisco aloft a few miles to the North will open arond November 20. Look for us at Warren and Parkwood near Stonebriar Mall.
