That little ol' hotel in the center of the Cosmo construction is the Jockey Club

Since the Cosmopolitan has been in the news lately, we've seen alot of pictures of how the site looks and one thing we've noticed - the Jockey Club, which is a timeshare hotel - is being surrounded on three sides by the Cosmopolitan. We're not talking about a parking lot, or grove of trees, or a pool - we're talking about 10-story high concrete walls.

That would make the Jockey Club the ultimate Room with an Anti-View!

We did some investigation and it turns out that the Cosmopolitan and Jockey Club actually are good neighbors. Yes its true.

We can't even put up a 2 foot high decorative fence in our backyard without neighborhood fights but being surrounded on three sides by a 10-story concrete wall is fine for Jockey Club owners!

As part of the Cosmopolitan's construction, they are contributing to a renovation of the Jockey Club. The Cosmo will provide dedicated parking to Jockey Club owners in the Cosmo's garage, direct access to the Cosmo's Casino & tennis courts, a new elevator and a much needed exterior facelift, while also moving the JC's main entrance to the north side of the building, since, well the south side is now a concrete wall.

So even though all Southern View rooms will no longer have a view, these improvements should still placate the 14,000 (yikes!) owners of the Jockey Club.

So before you feel bad for the JC owners - they actually made out well!
