Fixed Dollar Rates in France!

The French are adorable, no? As snooty and self-righteous as ever (ahem, unjustified Olympics smack-talking), those zany Frenchies still seem to be slaves to the American tourist's dollar. And since the dollar is as puny as ever, some French hotels are proffering fixed-dollar rates in the hopes of attracting more cash-strapped Americans.

Two Parisian Concorde Hotels and Resorts properties have nightly dollar-priced rates, including the Right Bank Hotel du Louvre and Left Bank Hotel Lutetia, through the end of August. (Note: book now!)

Plus, glitzy Cannes' tourist board is guaranteeing dollar prices at their partner hotels through Sept. 1 and from Sept. 1 to Oct. 11 with a three-night minimum stay (including both the Cannes Palace Hotel and Le Vend�me).

Now, we're not saying these rooms are cheap, but at least you know exactly how much your room will cost rather than counting on the market.
