Fixed Dollar Rates in France!

The French are adorable, no? As snooty and self-righteous as ever (ahem, unjustified Olympics smack-talking), those zany Frenchies still seem to be slaves to the American tourist's dollar. And since the dollar is as puny as ever, some French hotels are proffering fixed-dollar rates in the hopes of attracting more cash-strapped Americans.

Two Parisian Concorde Hotels and Resorts properties have nightly dollar-priced rates, including the Right Bank Hotel du Louvre and Left Bank Hotel Lutetia, through the end of August. (Note: book now!)

Plus, glitzy Cannes' tourist board is guaranteeing dollar prices at their partner hotels through Sept. 1 and from Sept. 1 to Oct. 11 with a three-night minimum stay (including both the Cannes Palace Hotel and Le Vendôme).

Now, we're not saying these rooms are cheap, but at least you know exactly how much your room will cost rather than counting on the market.
