Lo! What light through yonder window breaks? It is Chicago, and Aloft is the sun...

Even the esteemed Bard Shakespeare would find something novel to say about the grand opening of the Aloft Rosemont at O'Hare Airport, that hasn't been said a thousand times before.

Surely he would concoct some delicious snark about Aloft Hotels dotting the globe in a slow yet deliberate campaign for world hotel domination.

No doubt he would kill us softly with some carefully crafted sonnet about those uber-hip W-ish terms for 24-hour food bars (example: re:fuel), the ticket kiosks in the lobby, the funky amenities in those sleek open-style bathrooms, free water bottles in the room, nightclub-styled public seating areas.  Yet, all we can muster is "yadda yadda."

There's the sweet and sour to this Aloft -- while it may have style wiggling out of its ears and is only "five minutes from baggage claim," it's still 30 minutes (depending on the stopwatch) to Chicago's City center. Great news if you plan to fall out of bed and onto your plane back to wherever, but all that hipness is still sitting under many jumbo jets making their final descent.

As they say, We report. You decide.

There are currently three recent reviews at Tripadvisor, running the gamut, with coffee almost as a running theme: Needs kinks worked out (no lids for the coffee -- a full refund is surely in order) to the GM personally delivering a cuppa joe to a departing guest at 6am. Again, borrowing from the trusty Bard: Ah, but the course of true love never did run smooth!

ok team, we've got like 850 alofts open, and you're still using that goofy picture from months back.  lets get an update here

dude...if Aloft had real photos on their websites of their hotels and not renderings, i would happily use those. until then, the goofy picture from JULY (not months back) stays in the story.
