Who Makes the World's Worst Hotel Guests?

August 13, 2008 at 10:17 AM | by Jenna | 0 Comments

To hotel staffers, what exactly does one have to do to achieve status as a "nightmare" hotel guest? Towel-stealing? Calling the front desk asking for amenity after amenity to be delivered to their rooms? Loud drunks?

Yeah, no. Try throwing plates of spaghetti at walls, biting hotel security guards, and ordering xylophones up to their suites.

Concierge.com put together a list of the worst famous hotel guests ever -- and, surprise, Amy Winehouse is on there!

A couple of the gems after the jump.

Let's start with the rockers: The Who drummer Keith Moon dropped a giant birthday cake all over the carpet of his hotel room during a party where guests sprayed the whole suite with fire extinguishers, while Axl Rose scored a spot on the list for biting the leg of a hotel security guard.

The divas: Mariah Carey demands mineral water baths for her and her doggie and made London's Baglioni Hotel literally roll out a red carpet and line it with white candles for her arrival. Back in 2004, Britney Spears reportedly demanded One Devonshire Gardens cancel the reservations of all the other guests while she stayed there. Surely that didn't piss off anyone. And Nicole Kidman reportedly had hotel staff replace the 60-watt bulbs in her bathroom with 40-watters -- which kind of makes us feel good because, like, if Nicole Kidman can't look hot in hotel bathroom mirrors, nobody can.

There's some classics on the list too. Crowe's phone-throwing incident made the cut, as did Naomi Campbell's trademark outbursts running alongside some Russian guy running a prostitution ring.

And then there's Michael Jackson, who once ordered a xylophone to his room. No, we don't know why either.

Check out the rest of the list -- including details about various incidents involving Hot Mess of the Century Amy Winehouse -- here.
