Fitness freaks might be excited by a new offer at The Cavendish in London. They've just done a deal with British Military Fitness--a gang made up of serving soldiers and ex-servicemen--to provide workouts for guests at Hyde Park. We are guessing these are going to be tough workouts, not a cheerful stroll through the greenery.
The UK Times picked up on this with an opinion we definitely share:
Isn't the whole point of being in a hotel to slob around watching movies and making a mess of the sheets? "You don't have to go," it says. "It's optional, but it'd do you good."
And we thought the only person who was allowed to say "it'd do you good" was our mother. If you're different to us and want to be pushed around (and admittedly, get fitter and healthier) on your next London vacation then check the Cavendish. It has advance booking rates of £72 (US$140) a night.
While we appreciate this type of healthy hotel service, we promise you will never see us doing the Hyde Park workout. More likely we'll be sprawled on the reputedly comfy beds.
