The CitizenM Community is less about connecting guests with other guests and more about connecting guests with the city.
Specifically, members of the CitizenM community are asked to submit their "city tips" for guests who may be in different "moods": exploring, shopping, working, culture, good food, relaxation, night life or romance.
Hopefully people will continue to use the forum to post actual city tips (and not "yo, I'm in the mood for romance tonight, hit up room 509" or whatever).
But so far, so good. We poked around in there and the different mood threads have been full of posts like this one from Citizen Anne of Norway:
Hi there! In Amsterdam, I liked the Supper Club a lot, and the boats sailing from Rokin at Spui on evening cruises with wine, cheese and bread at a reasonable price. They are sailing for two hours on the channels. I also liked the cafe De Waag, nice setting! And the Anne Frank house gave a big impression, good to be reminded about what happened, considering the easy times we live in.
Unfortunately, they weren't all this helpful and sincere. Some of the posts looked to have been written by PR people or advertisers (oh come on; we can smell that kind of cheesy prose from all the way in America).
All in all, we think it's a great idea and a fantastic way to utilize the social networking framework to create something guests will actually use and enjoy. We'll definitely keep an eye on it for you as it grows over time!
