Minibar Happy Hour Satisfies Your Drunk Munchies

Picture this: you're in your hotel room, sort of drunk from happy hour cocktails in the lobby bar. You're dying for a snack. The hotel minibar is right there.

But you stop your hot little hands from reaching for that little fridge because its contents are SO expensive, not to mention the crap in there is SO unhealthy.

Yeah, we've all been there.

Luckily, at least one hotel as finally recognized the frequency of such devastating standard minibar situations and has come up with the perfect solution to satisfy our after-dinner (or after-cocktail) munchies: offering semi-healthy items in the minibar -- and a Minibar Happy Hour.

The Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel in Knightsbridge (London) not only features more sensible snacks like fruit juice and pumpkin seeds alongside the standard chocolate bars and sugary soda minibar selections, but they offer a MiniBar Happy Hour!

It's "brilliant", as they say all the time over there. The Telegraph had the scoop:

[The hotel has] introduced a happy hour between 10pm and midnight, when guests receive a 30 per cent discount on all purchases. The hotel's hi-tech computer automatically records every item taken from the fridge.

Our drunk munchie binges just got a whole lot cheaper -- hooray! Hopefully this is a trend that will make its way over to the U.S. sooner rather than later because we're hitting the lobby bar post-dinner tonight.
