Hacienda Bay is the site of a historic World War II battle -- not to mention some schwanky golf courses nearby, as well as home to professional volleyball, wakeboarding, and waterskiing, dude.
With villas, cabanas, a spa, beach club, restaurant, spa, pool bar, and fitness center, the hotel will also combine what they call "indigenous architecture" with cutting-edge sustainable design. And rooms will rival Gotham studio sizes, with a minimum of 625 feet. Eat your heart out, New Yorkers.
Although the "gated compound" isn't due to swing open until 2012, according to the the official press release, this will be their first Mediterranean resort, which "will rival high-end destinations in renowned Mediterranean locales such as Marbella, Sardinia, Monaco, Cannes, Nice and St. Tropez."
If that seems like forever away to you (and it does to us!) then check out the current locations of Nikki Beach as well as some of the upcoming ones that will happen before 2012.
