First: is a 414-room property still going to be considered "boutique"? How's that going to work?
And, more importantly, while we were told this is Kimpton's very first property in the state of Florida, we couldn't help but remember a little Coconut Grove property by the name of the Mayfair Hotel and Spa which used to be owned by Kimpton, if we recall correctly. Hmmm...we wonder why they're touting the Epic as Kimpton's first Florida property. What's up with that?
Oh wait -- maybe it's because the Mayfair (under its new management) is a hot mess, getting "dirtier and dirtier by the day."
Interesting. Check out plans and renderings of Epic here.
