Remember how we told you about The Bryant Park Hotel's Facebook page last week? And remember how we wondered (aloud, as we tend to do around here) why anyone besides staff members would really be open to associating with hotels on social networking sites?

While we thought hotels keeping up with the "times" was cool and all, we decided it would be even cooler if we could get some kind of a discount as a reward for actually becoming Facebook fans of the hotel.

Well, turns out someone out there on the interwebs was listening to us. Specifically, the Bryant Park Hotel -- we asked for it and we got it.

As of yesterday, BPH is offering a special amenities package to Facebook fans who book through a link accessible through BPH's Facebook page. The special amenities package includes:

Two complimentary cocktail tickets to be redeemed at the Cellar Bar in The Bryant Park Hotel; a complimentary room category upgrade based on availability upon check-in; a special welcome amenity to be delivered to the room and a complimentary 1:00 PM late checkout.

Gosh, if only we could score free cocktails, a little gift and permission to sleep in late every time we Facebook stalked someone...but instead, all we get is shame and sometimes the incredible satisfaction that comes from finding unflattering photos of our ex-boyfriends.

Ahem. Anyway. Hopefully, more hotels will take a cue from Bryant Park!
