Kimpton Starts Cooking Light with Mag Collaboration

July 23, 2008 at 9:15 AM | by | Comments (0)

Healthy is hot -- so hot, in fact, that Kimpton Hotels just announced a fat-free partnership with the magazine Cooking Light.

This is some kind of genius marketing plan -- it gets the hotel brand smack dab in front of the magazine's print and online audience of 12 million -- who supposedly took 20 million trips last year, even more than those well-versed readers of other major travel mags, like Conde Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure.

You do the math; that's a lotta peeps taking a lotta trips.

Plus they can share cross-promoted wellness travel packages, and their branded Cooking Light Supper Club series, which will naturally roll out at various Kimpton locations.

According to the CL website, these clubs usually take place at someone's home and someone does the cooking, but who knows? Maybe certain Kimpton restaurants will be hosting those clubs right on their premises, or open their doors to larger groups, or get wine sponsors. The pie, er, the sky's the limit.
