Summer Brings Big, Easy Deals to New Orleans

July 22, 2008 at 12:07 PM | by jennm | 0 Comments

If you can stand heat, humidity and incessant sweating, now is a great time to head to New Orleans, where there is a bevy of hotel deals going on, most likely because not many people can actually stand the heat, humidity and incessant sweating native to the Big Easy this time of year.

To wit: We visited New Orleans a few Julys ago and were able to stay at the Ritz-Carlton for less than $150 per night. But be warned: With the amount of showers you'll be taking to cool off, you'll need to pack extra underwear.

Don't worry, we're sure the following hotels will have enough drawers to store them all...

Hotel St. Pierre and the Andrew Jackson Hotel, both in the French Quarter, are offering a stay-two-nights-get-the-third-night-free promotion with complimentary continental breakfast. Hotel St. Pierre also throws in free parking. (Booking code is "Summertime: third night free!")

If you're driving into town, check into the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. Its "Gas 'n Go" package offers one night of deluxe accommodations with a welcome cocktail, continental breakfast, all taxes and a $25 gas card.

The Best Western St. Christopher has an offer you can't refuse: Its Romance Package provides an in-room bottle of wine, brunch for two at Court of Two Sisters and unlimited access to its health club.

At Hubbard Mansion, room rates are $129 for the entire summer.

Within 24 hours of booking a package, an Omni Royal Orleans concierge will call you to create a custom vacation based on their knowledge of the city. You'll also receive a $20 gift card. Packages range from $179 to $379 per night and require a two-night minimum stay.

For more deals, check out the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau web site.
