The Stamford Plaza in Sydney is a shade more gruesome, making the list at #6 as being the place where INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence was found dead (however you decide that he died). Curiously, Bill Clinton made the celebrity guest list here as well.
Also making the list for a celebrity death, the Highland Gardens Hotel in Hollywood is where Janice Joplin died after overdosing on heroin. No sign of Bill Clinton here.
If you're curious to know what their #1 famous hotel was, there's less death and depression in this one: in fact it's the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal which, along with being one of several spots where John Lennon and Yoko Ono didn't get out of bed, is famously the place where they recorded "Give Peace a Chance". Nice of them to end the famous hotel room list on a more positive note, at least.
