We managed to score some images of the new and improved, super-white guestrooms at The Betsy (formerly the Betsy Ross) on South Beach's Ocean Drive, which will premier this fall when the hotel reopens after its extreme makeover.

The Betsy's new look incorporates "contemporary tropical colonial" designs, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, plantation style shutters and white lacquered furniture and desks next to big white poster beds.

Another peek at the new guestrooms after the jump.

There's quite an elaborate concept behind the colors beyond the beachy-chic look:

"Four different color schemes are used to define the clean white rooms: fields of lavender in Provence, sunbathed Tuscan ochre, vibrant coral in the sea, and fresh Spring green.

With all that white preppiness, the design looks very Ralph Lauren-esque - which is not so surprising since one of the designers working on the project formerly created private residences for the Ralphster himself.

Plus, we're not so sure we'd feel comfortable to bring a doggy bag up into that room from the new restaurant downstairs, BLT Steak, celeb chef Laurent Tourondel's first Miami location for the group. Imagine the stains!
