Nightly prices for these villas are expected to be around $900 a night, which is pretty pricey in a destination as cheap as Thailand, so hopefully the quality will live up to the price. We like the Anantara sibling resort in Koh Samui because it takes care of elephants and the Phuket version seems similarly green-minded:
The resort protected its lone Banyan tree, building a staircase around the trunk that leads to a tree-top level bar. Here take in bird's-eye views while nibbling Thai-style tapas and sipping on exotic cocktails.
Tree-top bars are a definite plus for us so we're looking forward to learning more about the Anantara Phuket when it opens--hopefully in early October, they say.
Yet even while the opening is a ways off, the hotel has already put together an introductory package: Pay for three nights and the fourth night complimentary. Sounds pretty good to us!
