Snapshot :: W South Beach Topping Off

July 8, 2008 at 9:45 AM | by | Comment (1)

Construction is moving along nicely on the W South Beach as the hotel "topped off" their building on June 12. Although it's still been a long wait for us hotel geeks.

The 419-unit condo-hotel will open now in Spring 2009 with views of the Altantic Ocean from every room, a Bliss Spa and Mr. Chow and Serafina restaurants.

There will also be two infinity pools for guests to splash around in as well as beachfront access. One pool will feature poolside bungalows with flat-screen TVs and the fullest extent of W's Whenever/Whatever service. We bet the neighboring Gansevoort South (literally right next door) is just a teeny bit nervous for when this hotel opens.

By the way, the hotel's website is a must-see for its video of what strolling through the hotel and its grounds will be like. And also what life as a gorgeous supermodel is like as well.

Two more construction photos are after the jump.

Thanks Leemor!

Re: Snapshot :: W South Beach Topping Off

Its true...!These 2 Hotels literally face each other separated by half a block of a park along the beach and on the other side Collins Avenue. What's interesting and can't wait to see the rivalry between the 2 competing restaurants: Mr Chows @ W-South Beach & Philippe Chow's gorgeous dining room
on the main floor of the Hotel Gansevoort.
It's amazing how this neighborhood has changed since the days when I used to live across from their locations behind the old library/park on 21st street,I witnessed the Setai Hotel go up when I first moved ( from NYC)into the area back in 1999.
Can't wait to move back to Miami Beach it's simply "FAB..."
