Hotel Sierra is the new brand name given to the old Sierra Suites and the properties are getting makeovers to suit a"contemporary lifestyle", meaning good design, comfortable furnishings and free WiFi.
The rooms at Hotel Sierra sound more in keeping with football fans and their latest-technology desires: 32-inch hi-def flat screen TVs, wet bars, mini-fridges, microwaves, waffle terry robes, and those iPod docking stations.
An on-site spa called Renewal offers all the usual bells and whistles, the perfect antidote to sitting in sub-zero weather watching the game: pool, whirlpool, steam room, cardio weights, and a masseuse.
We like the comp breakfast that offers cereals and fruits, but will football fans really sink their teeth into "made-to-order omelettes with sauteed veggies?"
All this might not sound very Packers-fans-friendly but Green Bay is more than just football. There are marathons and conferences and parents visiting their kids at UWGB. Still, the hotel has a huge-ass sports pub for a reason.
