Canyon Ranch Spas are the kinds of places we try to head for when our body needs a vacation even more than our brain does: these places are detox heaven. And soon there'll be one more, when the
Canyon Ranch Miami Beach opens up later this year.
Canyon Ranch Miami says it'll be taking reservations from July 15 for stays starting from October. Their website's currently giving "2008 Sample Rates" for the various rooms which start from $300 a night and go much, much higher, and given that curious use of "sample" we're guessing these rates are not quite fixed yet.
Now remember, Canyon Ranches are places to get healthy, so everything revolves around the spa and healthy living. To quote a recent UK Guardian preview:
The menu will be somewhat spartan. No fried food. No Diet Coke. No white bread or rice. (The fast-food outlets on the other side of the road must be rubbing their hands.) Wine will be served, however, as long as it's organic or biodynamic. Of an evening, classes rather than clubbing will be on offer - the Arizona branch offers Native American storytelling and handwriting analysis.
Right, because handwriting analysis is really going to get us healthy. Fair enough, this is not a relax by the pool with a cocktail kind of vacation; perhaps we'll be satisfied hunching over a desk analyzing our handwriting with a small glass of biodynamic red wine.
