The round reception desk is ready to welcome the more discerning budget hotel customers, and we noted those "`check-in' sign[s] hang[ing] from the ceiling, instead of resting on the counter, to reinforce the uncluttered look."
Through a door off the back of the lobby is a small lounge, with tumbled river rocks forming columns bookended by large, hotel-standard comfy chairs. This space really reminded us of a woodsy lodge, with what seemed to be a small bar in the back - perfect for escaping the grit of North Chelsea, which is really the Garment District.
Overall the building is quite stunning - with the bi-color geometic façade lit up with the Holiday Inn signature green at night. We can't wait for the first guest reviews to pour in, because maybe then we can convince our family to spring for a hotel room when they visit, instead of camping all over our precious floor space.
