In an expensive town like Marbella, a good deal can be hard to find--and we mean that quite literally. While our stay at The Town House was easy on the pockets and the eyes, with its under-$200 room rate and roof top terrace, finding the place was a bit harder.
The nine-room pensión is located off a square inaccessible by car, so it may not be ideal for disabled travelers or travelers with lots of and/or heavy bags. Otherwise, The Town House provides a practically flawless stay.
Each room is individually decorated, some with balconies and all with their own bathrooms. (Plus Molten Brown toiletries!) No minibar, but an honor bar is located just outside of the roof terrace. While the small glimpse you get of La Concha mountain isn't much, the cool breeze and abundance of white pillows to lounge around in provide plenty of atmosphere.
The place is ideal for couples--and heavy sleepers. The one problem we experienced during our stay was seemingly paper-thin walls. Throughout the night we could hear the comings and goings of other guests. Plus, the Spanish penchant for partying late into the night is no different in Marbella, where the party can sometimes take to the streets.
Rates start at 110 euros (currently $172) and include breakfast, a healthy mix of toast, fruit, yogurt, teas and coffee.
