We were perusing the vast treasure trove of merriment and wonder otherwise known as Craigslist when we came across this interesting little job posting:
Seeking a highly seasoned chef to man our newest kitchen. Must have positive press/customer following or has worked under a well known chef with superb credentials.
Our restaurant which is slated to open in 2 and half months has lost our chef that received a Michelin star as chef de cuisine under a well known NYC restaurateur due to this person starting there own venture.
The restaurant...is situated in a new hotel. Our menu and kitchen design was geared towards a steak house with refined side dishes/sauces.
Ruh-roh! Smells like someone's screwed!
We're not sure how many Michelin Star-caliber chefs check Craigslist for job leads, but we hope this hotel gets it figured out soon.
So, which hotel is this? At first, we thought it may have been Thompson's Smyth Tribeca, but last we checked, the place wasn't going to open its doors until the end of 2009. Another likely candidate would have been Ago at the Greenwich Hotel, which got disastrous reviews and could use a new chef, except that place already opened a few months ago.
Any guess which soon-to-be-opened or recently-opened hotel this might be? Burn up the comments section or Let us know.
