The Germ-Zapper for Hotel Rooms

June 25, 2008 at 11:17 AM | by | Comments (2)

Here at HotelChatter, we are not only hotel geeks but germ freaks as well. And it's especially hard for us not to let our germ-phobia get the best of us at hotels.

We often have to resist the urge to immediately pull back the bed covers to inspect the sheets, check the minibar glasses for lipstick and peek behind the shower curtain for any unsightly stains, all for fear of what we might find.

What you don't know can't hurt you, right?

Of course, we could just pick up Germ Guardian's UV-C Light Wand--the ultimate germ-o-phobe's indulgence--and never have to worry about such things again.

The UV-C Light Wand is a light-saberish device that uses UV-C technology to kill 99 percent of germs. Pass it over surfaces like hotel sheets or airplane seats to rid the area of germs like influenza, staph, strep, salmonella and TB.

Which is great and all, except that we'd feel a little silly doing that (especially on airplanes) and the device costs $100. Heck, that's a night in a really cheap hotel room--which we're sure is spotless, of course.

Re: The Germ-Zapper for Hotel Rooms

i just checked and it's on backorder. sad :( i would like to use this, although carrying it around is probably a pain. and i could see the TSA freaking out if you ever tried to bring it on a plane.

TSA would prob have you handcuffs at "it kills" before you could even say germs.
