O Canada! The Waldorf-Astoria Collection, by Hilton Hotels, announced today their first hotel in Canada--The Waldorf=Astoria Hotel & Residences Montreal.
With 32 floors, 250 hotel rooms, 76 residences (that are sure to cost a fortune), ballroom space, "signature" restaurants, bars, a spa, and a fitness center, the Waldorf will make sure its presence is felt in "Our Home and Native Land!"
Hilton folks are so excited over their new $200 million hotel, even Ross Klein, former Starwood Chief-turned-head of Hilton luxury brands had something to say:
"The Waldorf=Astoria Collection continues to expand worldwide, delivering our signature elements, such as intuitive service, remarkable dining and customized spa experiences. Guests will have a bevy of options to discover local culture and engage in memorable, unique experiences that will last a lifetime."
Although the Waldorf seems promising, it's got plenty of competition with a Loews, Fairmont, new Westin, and a soon-to-be fabulously renovated Ritz Carlton that will all be located within several blocks.
Look for the Waldorf to hit Canada in 2011.
