Palm Springs Area Hotel Guide: Holiday Inn's New Look Suits All

While it's definitely the off-season for Palm Springs right now, it's also the best time to take advantage of cheap room rates at some of the desert's best hotels. This is Palm Springs where roadside motels and inns have just as much appeal as the designer boutique hotels and luxurious five-stars, so we aren't surprised to hear that the Holiday Inn here gets killer reviews. But thankfully, it's not because the hotel is old and kitschy. It's actually a nice new hotel.

The Holiday Inn is hard to miss on the corner of East Palm Canyon and Sunrise Way with its massive modern white teepee-style awning at the entrance.

And thanks to a recent renovation (the place just re-opened in January), all the rooms have 32-inch flat-screen TVs and there's free wireless throughout. You can read more about the renovations here.

But the best part of the hotel seems to be its pool scene with a large pool for all, two jacuzzis, a poolside cabana bar and Dive-In Movies.

The reviews are pretty outstanding for this place. Here's one that says it all:

The most important things for PS first: Great Pool w/ bar and 2 jacuzzis. The furnishings and beds are worthy of a much more expensive hotel. The bathroom is great w/ expensive tile for tub and floor. Hotel is newly remodeled so everything is new. Note: get a poolside room are otherwise you could be facing the parking lot.

Room rates start at $108 a night for a king bed and AAA members get 15 percent off the room rate all summer long (except Labor Day.)
